When I first looked at the advertisement Cortina watch, I felt that it’s very beautiful and I have never seen anything suchlike before. The background color of the ad is black which makes the color of the product look more attractive. The color of this photograph is nice but only the font of the ad is not too attractive. At the top of this image are the words JEANS-MAIRET AND GILLMAN, which present their brand name. This image of Cortina watch in this ad is not for general people, it is only for those who have to go to another continent. The Cortina watch is specialized for business woman and it is more convenient because you can look at the time whenever and wherever you want to. This advertisement proves to be very effective in persuading customers that wearing a watch, help you on time and helps you to have more responsibility.
This ad’s Composition, as I turn the page, my eyes immediately focus on the image of the watch because the colorful watch is placed in the center of a black flamed page. The bright colors pop out at anyone who might flip through the magazine, compelling me to stop and look at the ad then I saw the white company Logo; it was placed at the top of the page which shows the capital letter clearly. To persuade the reader to buy the product, the ad uses association, a technique that leads the reader to associate what I was in the as to myself. The theme of of this ad is luxury and glamorous. The Cortina watch is specialized for business women because it can be used for many continents and it has automatic movement with four time zones, which make your life more comfortable and looks glamorous too.
Although the ad gives a luxury image, there are not many details about the product, even the location where we can use the product it doesn’t state in the magazine, which does not allow people to know what the product can do. People who don’t know much about the Cortina watch might believe that the price night be very high so they might find another watch with more detail.
This advertisement is effective; it catches the reader’s attention and because the watch is luxurious and uses the clever technique of snob appeal, it may persuade people to buy the Cortina watch. However, the ad didn’t mention and give less information about this watch, so it’s hard for the reader to find the feature of the product. The ad should have proven that the watch it’s really good.
